FRIDAY SCHOOL CLOSURES With snow falling on wet roads that froze last night, local schools are starting to announce closures. We’re not going to publish a list as it’s 2023 and schools now email or text parents directly thankfully. (So no having to listen to Radio WM all morning…) Although the buildings are closed, most schools will switch online with work being set (in the vain hope that it’ll be completed.) Attendance at schools yesterday plummeted with many parents keeping their children at home and conditions are worse today. Those saying that children should just walk to school should perhaps bare in mind that teachers and other staff do not often live in the local area and would have had to try and travel in; with many using public transport.
